Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

Notification settings allow you to control which events trigger platform notifications in your space. You can enable or disable notifications for different types of activities using simple toggle switches.

Platform Notifications:

  • Appear under the bell icon in your dashboard

  • Only shown when you're logged into the system

  • Stored so you can review past notifications

Important: These settings only apply to your user account and don't affect how space members receive notifications.

Accessing Notification Settings

  1. Navigate to Settings: Go to User Settings > Notifications

  2. View by Category: Events are organized into expandable categories

  3. Use Toggle Switches: Turn notifications on or off for each event type

  4. Automatic Save: Changes save instantly when you toggle options

Setting Up Your Preferences

For Space Managers

Consider enabling notifications for:

  • Payment-related events (especially failures)

  • New customer registrations

  • Membership transactions

  • Credit purchase activities

You may want to disable notifications for:

  • High-frequency events if your space is very active

  • Routine operational events that don't require immediate attention

For Staff Members

Staff Access:

  • Staff members can only manage their own notification preferences

  • They cannot access billing-related notifications

  • Focus on operational events relevant to your daily tasks

Managing Your Preferences

Best Practices

  • Explore All Categories: Expand each category to see all available notification types

  • Start Conservative: Begin with fewer notifications and add more as needed

  • Test and Adjust: Monitor your preferences for a few days and refine them

  • Focus on Impact: Enable notifications for events that require your attention

Finding the Right Balance

  • Avoid Overload: Too many notifications can become overwhelming

  • Prioritize Critical Events: Always enable notifications for payment issues and system problems

  • Consider Your Role: Choose notifications that match your responsibilities

Troubleshooting

Not Seeing Notifications

  • Check Toggle Settings: Verify the event notification is enabled

  • Browser Refresh: Try refreshing your dashboard

  • Event Activity: Ensure the event type is actually occurring in your space

  • Browser Permissions: Allow notifications if prompted by your browser

Too Many Notifications

  • Review Settings: Turn off notifications for less important events

  • Use Categories: Focus on the most relevant categories for your role

  • High-Traffic Events: Consider disabling notifications for very frequent activities

Important Notes

  • Personal Settings: These preferences only affect your account, not other users

  • Immediate Changes: Toggle changes take effect immediately

  • Current Events: The complete list of available notification types is always shown in your settings page

  • Role-Based Access: Available notification types depend on your role (manager vs. staff)

  • Data Privacy: Notification preferences are stored securely and not shared with third parties
